To be employed by Sodexo USA at Manor Care West Des Moines location.
Qualifications:
o Previous food service experience is preferred, but not required.
o Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments.
o This position will show a willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
o Good motor coordination and manual dexterity are required for various work routines such as preparing food items, serving trays, handling soiled dishes, operating food service equipment and cleaning work area.
o The Food Service Worker must be patient and tolerant toward staff, residents, and family members.
o This position requires someone who reliably comes to work on the days they are scheduled.
o A hard work ethic and good attitude are essential.
Physical Requirements:
o The Food Service Worker stands and walks intermittently throughout the working day, as well as reaches, stoops, bends, lifts, carries, and manipulates various food products, food service supplies and equipment.
o The Food Service Worker must have an ability to work with chemicals and cleaning agents.
o Must be able to lift and/or carry 30 to 45 pounds and withstand exposure to temperature and humidity changes as in entering refrigerated storage areas, working at ovens, ranges, dish-washing machines, and at steam tables.
o This employee must be free from infections or diseases.
Duties:
o Perform defined work routines, using various food service utensils, supplies and equipment
o Provide assistance to the cook in the preparation and service of meals.
o Meet scheduled meal and snack times.
o Follow Federal and State long term care regulations and Food Service Department policies and procedures.
o Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.
o Assist in arranging tray cards, loading food carts, and serving meals.
o Setting up the dining room and serving residents.
o Wash and store dishes.
