What You'll Do:
As a Workers Compensation Claims Specialist, you will investigate, evaluate, and process workers' compensation claims.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills are critical keys to success, along with teamwork, demonstrated leadership skills and problem solving ability.
You'll have 100-120 cases and be responsible for managing multiple priorities.
As a Workers Compensation Claims Specialist, you must keep a service-oriented attitude at all times by maintaining professional and productive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, agents, agency managers, claimants, policyholders, doctors, attorneys, and others.
This position will primary handle claims in Iowa, but at times you may be responsible for working claims in the other states in which we do business (South Dakota, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Minnesota, Kansas, and Nebraska).

We currently have 1 opening on this team which can be located in West Des Moines, IA, Eagan, MN or Las Cruces, NM.

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

  • College degree or equivalent plus 2
    years of workers compensation claims experience is required.
  • Must have or obtain a solid understanding of work comp law/cases in Iowa, and have managed claims in other states.
  • Strong negotiation and independent judgement skills are required.
    Must utilize independent judgement to arrive at decisions through sound and logical reasoning in order to handle more complex claims.
  • A high degree of professionalism is required.
  • Strong computer skills are required in order to quickly learn our multiple systems.
  • Progress towards and attainment of industry education is expected.
    An Associate in Claims (AIC) designation is preferred within your first year of employment.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
