We'd love to find someone who naturally enjoys operating at a fast pace with minimal guidance and supervision once fully trained and fully up to speed.
In between meal prep the kitchen duties we know there will be a little bit of a lull where we would send you from the kitchen to the classroom to give peers a break.
While you would not be the person responsible for the classroom operations, you would need to be involved and actively invested in the classroom while you're covering for the teacher on his/her break.
Kitchen Support
Responsibilities:
- Assist in meal preparation and cooking under the supervision of the kitchen staff - Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment - Help with food handling, including chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients - Support the kitchen team in organizing and stocking ingredients and supplies - Assist in maintaining inventory and rotating food items to ensure freshness - Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during peak hours - Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations - Adhere to all health and safety regulations in the food industry Classroom Support
Responsibilities:
- Serve as substitute in classrooms for employee breaks during slow periods - Assist in executing classroom operations which varies by age, but could include play-based learning activities, diapering or assisting with children toilet training, light cleaning, general organization - Must value the relationship that a caregiver or educator has in the life of a young child and understand the importance of being a responsive caregiver - Follows all HHS licensing standards General Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred - Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and meal assembly - Familiarity with food safety practices and guidelines - Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes loud, environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately - Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team - Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and lift as needed - Ability to stand, bend, lift, crouch, twist Hours:
- This position is expected to be a full time position (32
hours per week), overtime is extremely rare - Hours might vary a little, depending on the menu and needs of the center, but in general would fall Monday-Friday, beginning after 7:
